Qualification Activity

Connected to the main activity the Foundation provide training for principals, teachers and parents in the following fields:

  1. for principals - team work, assessing the quality of the school work, sustainability, family involvement;
  2. for teachers - interactive teaching methods, thematic teaching, new educational technologies, organizing a child-centered school environment, individualization, observing and assessing the child's development, anti-bias, integrating children with special educational needs and minority children;
  3. for parents - communication, parent involvement, creating effective boards of school trustees and advocacy.
Considering the condition and tendencies in the development of the Bulgarian education and in order high quality of the Step by Step pedagogical teams' work to be ensured and maintained the Foundation have directed the provided qualification activity to the following thematic units:

Till now 25 faculty teachers, 440 student teachers, 92 principals, 1520 teachers, 45 nurses and 107 parents from the Step by Step network have been trained on the specific training modules. According to the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Foundation (#599/18.11.1998) more than 1000 preschool and primary teachers and principals interested in the Step by Step methodology have participated in training workshops. The preschool and primary senior experts from the regional inspectorates of the Ministry of Education have been trained as well.

The quality of the Step by Step qualification activity has been ensured through a monitoring and evaluation mechanism accomplished by the Foundation core team, the participants in the workshops, experts of the Regional Inspectorates of the Ministry of Education and Science and the municipalities, and the trainers themselves.
